HUGO AWARD AND DAVID GEMMELL LEGEND AWARD ANNOUNCEMENTS

THOSE HUGO NOMINATIONS.... We were delighted to find out over the Easter weekend that EMBASSYTOWN has been nominated in the Best Novel category for the Hugo Award. This is fantastic news and a testament to China Miéville's wonderful book. Results will be announced at this year's Worldcon, Chicon 7 in Chicago (Aug 30-Sept 3). You can read a sample chapter of EMBASSYTOWN here, and fingers crossed for the Arthur C. Clarke Award too, as EMBASSYTOWN is of course on the shortlist for that award too, with results out on 2nd May.

Following news of Paul Cornell winning a BSFA Award over the weekend for his novelette THE COPENHAGEN INTERPRETATION, we were delighted to find out that it has now been also nominated for a Hugo Award! Then there was even more rejoicing to find that his collaboration THE SF SQUEECAST had been nominated in the Best Fancast category (the other members of this project including Lynne M. Thomas, Seanan McGuire, Elizabeth Bear and Catherynne M. Valente). The full nomination list for the Hugo Awards is HERE.

THE DAVID GEMMELL LEGEND AWARD ...

We are also delighted that Douglas Hulick's AMONG THIEVES has been nominated for a David Gemmell Legend Award - for the Morningstar Award for best fantasy debut novel. The full nomination list for the Morningstar Award and voting buttons are HERE with the full list of Gemmell nominees HERE. Please vote to win as the result will be determined by you, the readers.

Congratulations to all authors on these shortlists!
